Video Tutorial: Japanese Pleats Envelope Gift Wrapping

You don’t need to prepare a box or ribbon for this gift wrapping – my new video tutorial shows how to create a beautifully styled package using only paper.

This DIY envelope gift wrapping is perfect for flat items and gifts without a box. With just a few simple steps, you can create an elegant pleating design that will add a festive and stylish look to the presentation.

Pleating designs are popular gift wrapping styles in Japan and you may have seen images of various styles before. Traditionally, the number of pleats had significance, representing different occasions. An odd number of pleats (3,5,7…) were for happy occasions such as weddings and Baby Showers, while an even number of pleats represented a less joyous occasion, like a going away party and funerals.
